balcony bliss.
leaves add life.
This outdoor balcony space has become an oasis that I never want to leave. It makes it even harder to go back indoors now that the temperature is starting to go down! The greenery was the last addition to this cozy balcony, and I believe that it is the most important feature of this space. A tip that can translate to any room of the house-if it feels drab or dead, bring a few plants into the picture. Even artificial plants, despite not being alive themselves, can add a huge amount of life into the home.
This balcony showcases a few projects that my boyfriend and I worked on together to make the space bright and beautiful. By using yellow spray paint on two brown, wooden chairs, the colors in the chindi rug become more dramatic and vibrant. The light wooden crate was painted hot pink for the same reason-not only does it bring out the beauty of the rug, but it seamlessly ties together the entire area. The shelf that the plants are resting on used to belong in the bathroom, but after purchasing a new cabinet for over the toilet, it became home to our new, leafy friends! Using pieces of artificial ivy from Amazon to create a wrapped vine effect around the shelf added a bit of character, and draping a sheer curtain behind it made it look complete.
unused space is useful.
After finishing the decoration of the balcony, I was pleased with everything about it-except for the lack of seating. Due to the balcony being narrow and long, it does not have much room for people to sit and relax. The balcony is a comfortable spot that I want friends to share in, which meant it was time to get creative in maximizing the space that was available.
By pushing the bench slightly in front of the door, this helped to close the distance between it and the two chairs, which were quite far apart before. The space behind the bench is the perfect spot for a stool to sit and it can be pulled out if more than four people are on the balcony. The next part of the plan to make this a larger hangout space is to purchase a floor cushion that can sit by the plant shelf. Making use of unoccupied space is a great way to avoid a cluttered look while having plenty of room for everyone.

Hi, your balcony looks amazing! I also have a long narrow balcony. Where did you get that bench/sofa? I‘ve been searching the internet for half an hour now but can‘t find anything similar. :(
